Beefy Empanadas

1/2 lb. Ground beef
2 Tbsp Sofrito
1 Packet Sazón
1 tsp Minced garlic
1/8 Tsp Black pepper
1/2 tsp Dried oregano
1/2 Cup Mexican blend cheese
1 Package Goya Discos frozen turnover dough
1 Cup corn oil / vegetable oil for frying
1 Egg for sealing dough



  1. Cook ground meat.
  2. Stir in the remaining ingredients, (except cheese, egg, discos and frying oil).
  3. With your thawed Goya discos, spoon about 1 tbsp of the mixture into the middle with a sprinkle of cheese.
  4. Fold over and moisten edges with the egg and seal with a fork.
  5. Heat 2½ inches of oil in a deep sauce pan on medium heat.
  6. Cook empanadas in batches, turning till lightly browned on both sides.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
